FFB: Winter Weight Has a Purpose

There comes a time when you have to accept the laws of physiology and work with it instead of against it.

Gaining weight over the Winter months is such a time.

Trying to lose weight permanently over the Fall and Winter is almost fruitless because our bodies naturally seek ways in which to hold on to extra fat because it thinks it needs the insulation over the cold weather and energy for the immune system.

This is our primitive (reptilian) brain at work... the part of us that hasn't caught up with modern life. Of course, we know many people have plenty of insulation and weak immune systems, but it doesn't matter. Our bodies are going to respond to nature the way its always responded for millions of years.

Use the Spring and Summer months to lose the extra pounds that you've been carrying over the years and want (need) to shed for health and/or medical reasons. Now is the time to learn how to work with your primitive and more evolved brain (neocortex) to increase creativity, respect and trust with a deeper mind-body connection. You may never win the war against nature and avoid the extra pounds during Winter, but you CAN learn how to lose it easily and immediately as the Spring arrives and have coping mechanisms to take you through the holidays year after year.

Through a mind-body practice we allow the evolved part of our brain to communicate to our bodies in the deepest ways possible for change. Can you visualize yourself at your goal weight? Can you feel it in your cells, nerves, muscles, and bones? Do you have a coping tool to get you through a craving or binge? If not, get Body Centered Hypnotherapy and learn a daily practice of Active Meditation and you won't be sorry.

This road to Mindfulness goes beyond dealing with weight because we all know it's not about food.
